This year's Greater New Orleans Fleur-de-Lis Tennis Tournament
will be held on April 16 - 18, 2010.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST COMPLETE, PRINT and MAIL the TOURNAMENT APPLICATION SHEET IN ORDER TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DRAW. The online registration form only shows current participants that the tournament directors have approved.

The WELCOME PARTY will be on Thursday, April 15, from 7 - 10 PM at Napoleon's Itch (734 Bourbon Street).

The HOST HOTEL is the Best Western French Quarter Landmark Hotel, 920 N. Rampart (located on the edge of the Quarter.) A special discount rate will be given to those who stay at the Best Western. The phone number is 800-535-7862. You must mention Fleur-de-Lis tourney to get the discounted rate.

The TOURNAMENT BANQUET will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 7 - 10 PM at Chartres House (601 Chartres Street).

$100 (one event); $110 (two events)

All entries must be postmarked by April 3, 2010. Doubles Teams are not entered until both players have registered and paid. No telephone entries will be accepted.

Draws and First Round Matches

All main draw matches will be 2 out of 3 sets scoring. Official draws with play times will be posted at the Welcome Party (at Napoleon's Itch).

Default Time

The standard USTA default procedure (15 minutes) will be used. Please arrive 15 minutes EARLY to check in. The site desks have final authority on all default decisions.

Seedings

Seedings are based primarily on the latest GLTA ranking file as provided to the tournament by GLTA. Seeding points are computed by the GLTA from all GLTA sanctioned tournament results over the previous 24 months. Special seeding considerations my be given for recent tournament results and/or USTA tournament results/rankings.

Divisions

New Orleans will use current GLTA Rules for all events. Read carefully to ensure you have entered the proper division. Failure to enter the correct division may result in GLTA sanctions on the player or the player may be defaulted from the tournament.
Open NTRP 5.0+ rating — highly advanced tournament player
A NTRP 4.5 rating — advanced tournament player
B NTRP 3.5 - 4.0 rating — high intermediate tournament player
C NTRP 3.0 rating — low intermediate tournament player
D NTRP 2.5 or less rating — beginning tournament player with little experience

Consolation Matches Schedule

Play begins at 8:00 AM each day. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.
Semifinals and Finals will be played on Sunday, April 18.
All matches will be played on hard courts.

Housing

Out of town players may request local housing. Requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Players receiving housing will be provided the name and phone number of their host during the week before the tournament.

Weather Contingency

In the event of weather related delays, changes in the location and/or format may be implemented when play resumes. All efforts will be made to apply changes consistently from round to round.

Waiting Lists and Refunds

A waiting list will be maintained if more entries are received than the event allows. If entrants withdraw prior to the draw being made once a division is full, then players from the waiting list will be notified as space becomes available. PLEASE NOTE: NO PLAYERS WHO HAVE BEEN SEEDED CAN BE SUBSTITUTED AFTER THE DRAW HAS BEEN MADE. A list of the players on the waiting list will be maintained by the tournament site director. If a scheduled player does not show up for the first match, then a player on the waiting list may be substituted. Substitution is based on who is present at the default time and highest on the list. Full refunds will be given to players who withdraw before the draws are made. No refunds will be issued after that time. All checks returned from insufficient funds will be considered as non-payment and will result in an additional charge of $25.00 payable to the Greater New Orleans Tennis Association. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW UNTIL FULL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.
